Square Enix reveals their grand strategy for their game titles in the future. Fans of the games and the gaming publisher will expect blockbuster games a year, remasters, and many more.

Square Enix To Release Blockbuster Games A Year

Square Enix first revealed their planned HD games or their blockbuster games. The game titles for fiscal year 2018 and beyond that were mentioned were "Kingdom Hearts III," "Final Fantasy VII Remake," and other games that have the collaboration with Marvel. They revealed that their strategy will be launching one or two blockbuster games, and multiple mid-size games every year, so expect one or two big titles next year soon, according to their official website.

Square Enix To Focus On Multiplatform Titles

A slight decline of sales appeared under fiscal year 2015 with two game titles: "Dragon Quest X" and "Final Fantasy XIV." The first game is currently on outdated platforms, which led to its decline, and the second one is waiting for its next expansion, "Stormblood," which will launch on June 20. This is why Square Enix revealed their plan to focus on multiplatform game titles this time around, Dual Shockers reported.

Square Enix To Release Remastered Game Titles

Square Enix also revealed that they want to establish their own global digital sales website. With this, they can create their own library of older titles, and also erases the issues of backward compatibility, which a lot of classic gamers would appreciate. This is a sign that a lot of remastered video games might be coming soon.

Another focus the game publisher is looking into is their expansion overseas, which might come to emerging markets like India. They are also interested with games-as-a-service with titles that can generate recurring revenue on top of its initial sale.

Square Enix Breaks Off With IO Interactive

In a surprising turn, Square Enix also announced that they have broken off their ownership of IO Interactive, which was the Danish studio behind the popular "Hitman" series. They have now withdrawn from the studio, which resulted in a big amount of loss for them. The future of the studio's video games is now hanging in the balance, Gamespot reported.
