"Naruto Shippuden" creator Masashi Kishimoto intends to continue the battle manga, but in a lighter and more fun tone in the brand-new "Boruto" series. Moreover, Kishimoto intends to focus on delivering kids-scale fighting that may not be as big as Naruto and Sasuke's but will feature new ideas presented differently.

The creator of a multi-million dollar franchise is unfazed by his popularity. The brains behind the widely popular "Naruto" is intent on focusing more on his newest project even revealing his difficulties in the new "Boruto" spin-off.

Though separate from the actual writing team, Kishimoto is still involved in every chapter of "Boruto" since the spin-off is largely based on his movie script. The Japanese creator intends to make the new series happier and more fun, different from the darker arc that "Naruto" took towards the end. He adds that he wants young boys and girls to enjoy "Boruto."

The real challenge in creating a brand new story especially a battle manga is on presenting battles. "Boruto" will naturally feature kids-scale fighting, which may be several notches lower than the intense fights between Naruto and Sasuke according to ComicBook. Only by coming up with new ideas and different presentations can the spin-off be as entertaining as it claims to be.

Also, the team behind "Boruto" is conscious of not repeating themselves, which is hard to do when everything else was done in the "Naruto Shippuden" series. When asked in the Weekly Shonen Jump interview, Kishimoto defended the seemingly clone-like characters in the brand new series.

The "Naruto" creator revealed that there will be archetypal characters in "Boruto." Some characters may closely mimic the original ninjas like Shikada who is very similar to his father and Cho-Cho who inherited traits from his parents. Kishimoto adds that the similarities reveal who the characters really are.

With regards to Boruto's character, Kishimoto's "Naruto" manga officially introduced the boy as the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuuga. The boy was soon featured extensively in a tie-in movie alongside his father.

Boruto is unlike his father in ways and attitude. Naruto often acts before thinking while Boruto is more refined and easily mistaken as lazy. The father easily reveals what he is feeling by yelling while his son often resorts to sarcasm. "Naruto'" fans can get to know more about Boruto when the series hits televisions in Tokyo this April.
