The last WWE Smackdown of 2016 will be one for the ages as AJ Styles defends his WWE Title against Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin in a triple threat match. Dolph Ziggler earned the right to be the number one contender after winning a fatal four-way elimination match a couple of weeks ago. Daniel Bryan then decided to make it a triple threat match when AJ Styles interfered in a Dolph's match against Baron Corbin where if Corbin won then Corbin would take Ziggler's place in the championship match.

This week's WWE Smackdown also offers a Smackdown Women's Title match with Alexa Bliss defending her title against Becky Lynch. Lynch recently pinned Bliss on last week's Smackdown when she dressed up as a luchadore, according to Wrestlezone. However, Bliss was caught off guard as she thought she was facing a local competitor. This time, she knows what she is up against.

According to WWE.com, WWE Smackdown tag team champions Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt will be defending their titles against The Usos, American Alpha and Heath Slater/Rhyno in a four corners elimination match. It will be the toughest title defense for Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt as they defend against three hungry tag teams. With Luke Harper lurking on the outside, they definitely have an upper hand in terms of numbers.

The biggest occasion for this week's edition of WWE Smackdown is the return of 15-time world champion John Cena. The WWE Universe are all wondering what he is planning to do. Some are speculating he will challenge the winner of the world title match so he can chase Ric Flair's record of holding the world title for 16 times. It is also possible he will throw his name as one of the participants in next month's Royal Rumble match and join Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar as the other confirmed participants.
