The Samsung versus Huawei smartphone industry profits puts the Chinese as the most profitable Android smarthphone supplier in the recent report by Strategy Analytics. However, Apple still dominates the bulk of the profits, but the South Korean Samsung appears to be on the sidelines for the third quarter of 2016.

The Strategy Analytics offers more conservative figures as compared to the BMO Capital Market Shares which released its own report a few weeks ago. For the first time, Apple got a sizeable share of the overall profits with 91 percent, but BMO pegged it 103.6 percent taking into consideration the losses of LG and HTC as reported in 9to5 Google.

The recent report ranks Huawei as second, replacing Samsung as the most profitable Android smartphone supplier. Vendors Vivo and Oppo come in third with 2.2 percent each. However, Huawei will still have to do a lot of catching up to its American counterpart.

The Samsung versus Huawei smartphone clearly favors the Chinese vendor because of various factors. Huawei Technologies were able to optimize its supply chain and offer a strong product lineup.

Huawei also benefited from a good marketing ploy, potentially boosted by Hollywood A-listers Henry Cavill and Scarlet Johansson, the vendor's newest image models. On the other hand, Samsung's Note 7 debacle officially sidelined the South Korean vendor,

Huawei is China's largest telecommunications product manufacturer and its' entry into the smartphone industry has been marked with increase in revenues. The company revealed that it had a 41 percent year-on-year increase of its first two quarters revenues reaching $11.2 billion dollars and shipments totaling to 60.56 million smartphones according to SCMP.

Evidently, the Samsung versus Huawei smartphone in profits is a no contest. However, Samsung will surely recoup its losses and most likely bounce back with its newest smartphone lineup for release next year.
