The OnePlus 3T is the souped-up version of the OnePlus 3, with "T" possibly standing for "Turbo." This means that the new device promises to perform better and faster, with more features building on the innovations of the base model.

The OnePlus 3 was the third offering by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in its line of "flagship killers." It had received positive reviews from users following their disappointment with last year's OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus 3 was a fierce alternative to the more expensive iPhones and Galaxy S's.

It offered high-spec performance for a mid-ranged price smartphone that came with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front shooter, fingerprint scanner and 3,000mAh fast charging battery. All this set the smartphone apart from the competition, TechRadar reported.

Now, the OnePlus 3T is rumored to receive slight upgrades. In that, a quad HD LCD, will replace the full HD AMOLED screen of the previous model. It will have an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with the same amount of RAM and 128GB of storage. Also, 10 percent increased battery capacity, PocketNow reported.

Sources have said that the move is interesting considering that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer's prvious strategy was to focus on a single smartphone line to control cost.

It has also been suggested that the device will feature Sony's IMX395 sensor in the rear camera. Consumers can expect the same, if not better quality shots with its 16-megapixel f/1.7 lens.

Furthermore, the new device is speculated to have a new version of OxygenOS to run on top of Andriod 7.0 Nougat. That being, once launched users expect the new smartphone to be priced at $480 - $80 more than the OnePlus 3.

According to the latest leaks, the new smartphone will be launched on Nov. 14 at a London event.
