Recall: ConAgra Foods Pulls Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle Soup Due To Mislabeling

By

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday that ConAgra Foods has issued a nationwide recall of microwavable Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle Soup, HealthDay reported.

Nearly 55,000 pounds of chicken noodle soup products are being recalled due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The labels on the products do not alert consumers that they contain wheat and eggs, which can cause allergic reactions in some people, HealthDay reported.

"The problem was reported to the firm by consumers who discovered chicken noodle soup in mislabeled bowls," the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a statement.

The recall covers 14-ounce bowls of "Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice" soup bearing the establishment number"P-770" inside the USDA Mark of Inspection and the Best By date of "JUN092015" stamped on the bottom of the bowl.

The products subject to this recall were produced Dec. 16, 2013 and distributed to stores across the United States and in Puerto Rico, Jamaica and the Dominica Republic.

No reports of health problems linked to the recalled soup have been received by the FSIS or ConAgra.

Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.  Those with questions about the recall should call the ConAgra Foods hotline number at: 1-800- 289-6014.
