ESEA Imposes a 1K-Year Ban on 'Counter-Strike' Player for Alleged Harassment of Minor

By

The E-Sports Entertainment Association (ESEA) League imposed a previously unheard-of 1,000-year ban on a player who was alleged to have sexually harassed a minor.

Fellow "Counter-Strike" players compiled then later posted photos of conversations that 25-year-old Reece "Bloominator" Bloom had with an alleged 15-year-old girl on Reddit.

The Reddit threat, titled "Bloominator is a pedo?", is no longer available as of this time, but ESEA members were able to keep screenshots of the thread which they were able to repost on a separate Reddit thread and on the ESEA forums, Mashable reported.

The screenshots include alleged "sexual requests from Bloom, a thumbnail of a sexual video he sent to the minor and a message where he admits he is a pedophile," it added.

The ban means that Bloom will not be able to participate in the league until June 6, 3016. The official reason for the account ban was tagged as 'Malicious Activity'.

Bloom, a team member of North American Counter-Strike league 7th seed Armor Esports, supposedly posted an apology on his now-deleted Twitter account. Bloom apologized to his team for his actions, and appealed to would-be haters to spare his friends and affiliated organizations.

According to Kotaku, Bloom's chatlogs with the 15-year old are still available online. Be warned that the conversations are not pleasant and tagged as "extremely not-safe-for-work".

Kotaku was able to get a statement from an ESEA representative, who went on to say that Bloom was "banned due to his interactions with a member of the community".

Kotaku went on to say that the representative added that Bloom's "actions are not acceptable".

The ESEA representative also reminded the community that any actions similar to this will be investigated accordingly and will be taken seriously by the league.

Whether or not any party will pursue criminal charges against Bloom is not known as of this time.
