Shane Black Casts Jacob Tremblay For Another Predictable ‘Predator’ Movie

By

A new "Predator" movie is on its way directed by Shane Black, which means fans can expect tons of action and the involvement of a kid. This time, Black takes in the Jacob Tremblay, who is the 10-year-old breakout star of "Room." But some critics are already raising eyebrows because it could only mean that Black is going to his usual movie formula.

Shane Black's Signature Directing Style And Why Casting Tremblay Makes "The Predator" Predictable

Shane Black's signature style in movies include action-packed sequences, Christmas, and a kid, with his last two films "Iron Man 3" and "The Nice Guys" as the best examples, GQ reported. It is clear that he has preferences and formulas in doing his film, which means the new "Predator" movie could be predictable. He uses those obvious recurring styles for an important purpose, though.

He uses Christmas to offset the intense violence in the action scenes with a moment of innocence. In his latest movie "The Nice Guys," his style of using a kid to increase the stakes worked very well. Angourie Rice gave a critically acclaimed performance being the kid in that movie.

10 Year Old Actor Joins Cast For The Latest Predator Movie

Jacob Tremblay, who won the SAG Award for his incredible performance in "Room", will be Black's Angourie Rice for the new "Predator" movie, Den of Geek reported. According to reports, Tremblay will be playing an autistic child who is bullied in school. He will become a major character in the sci-fi movie due to his talent for learning languages.

The kid that Tremblay will play is a character who is also wise-beyond-his-years and tells a lot good one-liners, just like what Arnold Schwarzenegger did in the original "Predator." With what he has proven in "Room" it seems like Tremblay can easily pull off this type of character. Aside from Tremblay, other actors in the movie, which will come out in March 2018, will include Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, and 50 Cent.
