Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Battery Issues Solution

Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are the first smartphone to feature fingerprint scanner as well as the full HD display. However, these features consumed too much battery that cause too much disappointed from the users but Android Central suggests the following solutions to the power issues:

  • Enable battery saver mode to limit the background activities such as brightness, vibration motor, location services, and email sync.
  • Turn-off connectivity services such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS when not in use to avoid battery consuming activities such as scanning for networks, locations services and mobile data usage.
  • Look for power hungry apps and kill them off. Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps are example of these apps; Facebook in the browser is an alternative.
  • Change display setting such as brightness into dim.
  • Disable automatic updates from Play Store by unchecking the Auto-update apps from the Setting.
  • Upgrade to Nougat to experience the "Doze" mode that contains tweaks to extend battery life.
  • Resort to Motorola's proprietary tech called Turbo Charge that delivers 15W of power that costs $13.

Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus Upcoming Successor

Despite the excellent performance of the two smartphones, Lenovo-owned Motorola is rumored to launch the fifth generation of Moto G series that will be named Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. According to PC Advisor, the 2017 iteration of the smartphone series is expected to house major features and specs upgrades most especially when it comes to its mobile processor.

The company is expected to choose Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and Adreno 506 GPU for Moto G5 to bring improvement to battery life, to power the 5.5-inch full HD screen display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The handset is said to run Android 7.0 Nougat and USB-C ports for data transfer as well as connectivity.
