Android 7 Nougat update has started rolling out to some Motorola handsets back in November. The latest models Moto Z and Moto Z Play have been left out but reportedly preparing for the update to come in February and March respectively. Will the update available to US before March? See full details here!

Android 7 Nougat Update for Moto Z and Moto Z Play

The long wait is about to end as Android 7 Nougat update is rolling out soon to Motorola's latest handsets Moto Z and Moto Z Play. According to ZDNET, Motorola has reportedly confirmed to Android Central that the two mentioned handsets will start receiving the update in the months of February and March, respectively.

Though the Android Nougat update for Moto Z will arrive in the US come February, the update for Moto Z Play is expected to arrive after March. Both unlocked models of Moto Z Play and Moto Z Play Droid under the carrier Verizon will receive the update.

The announcement from the Motorola is expected to elicit excitement from the owners of Moto Z and Moto Z Play but rumor suggests that users have regarded the announcement as odd not to mention the delay where in fact, Moto Z and Moto Z Play are both unlocked. It can be recalled that Motorola is known for quickly updating their unlocked handsets to the latest mobile operating system but since it was acquired by Lenovo, that kind of image has started to disappear.

Android 7 Nougat for Other Motorola Handsets

The phased-manner update of Android 7 Nougat is also expected to arrive to other non-flagship smartphones of Motorola. The list of handsets include Droid Maxx 2, Droid Turbo 2, Moto M, Moto X Force, Moto X Play, Moto X Style and Moto X Pure Edition (Generation 3), Phone Arena reported.

Android 7 Nougat is expected to bring the following features to Motorola handsets: multi-tasking windows, revamped notification bundles, new power management scheme and many others. As noted by ZDNET staff Matthew Miller, Moto Z Force Droid has become more powerful than Google Pixel XL when it runs the latest Android mobile OS.
