Fans would love to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars movie, and would mean big money for the producers. So, why not do it?

According to reporters who have inside scoop to the Star Wars franchise, having a stand alone Kenobi film might spoil important plot points in the coming Star Wars episodes VIII and IX, Inverse reported.

Kenobi Details Will Show up In Upcoming Star Wars Movies

Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, who is reliable when it comes to Star Wars scoop said Lucasfilm is not yet done with Kenobi. However, he said that new information about the old Jedi Knight will show up as the saga progresses.

Beznican was recently in Rebel Force Radio podcast talking about the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," which will be in theaters December 16. During the podcast, he mentioned rumors about a stand alone Kenobi film with actor Ewan McGrgor, /Film reported.

He said he won't be surprised if there would be an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie happening after Star Wars Episode IX.

Obi-Wan Hints in New Star Wars Movies

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Obi-Wan's voice, played by McGregor, can be heard during Rey's vision after she touched Luke Skywalker's lightsaber.

It's a fun teaser to give the fans something to look forward to. That easter egg could help tie up the stories of the characters in the movie to the whole Star Wars universe.

Obi-Wan's Role in Upcoming Episodes VIII and IX

However, Beznican suggested that Obi-Wan might still have a role to play in the upcoming episode VIII and IX, even though the character was killed by Darth Vader in "A New Hope."

Beznican admitted that he doesn't know everything, but according to the facts he has gathered and by connecting them together, he believes that Rey has some sort of connection with Obi-Wan Kenobi.
