Sony's new MDR-1000x headset has amazing new features that could be enough to challenge the reigning king of noise cancellation headset, Bose QuietComfort 35.

The new MDR-1000X is priced at $399, which is $50 more than QuietComfort 35. Sony's new hi-res headset has amazing sound, efficient noise cancelling capacity, reliable battery life, and it is very comfortable to use, Tech Crunch reported. It also features ambient awareness. These features may not knock Bose's headset of the thrones, but it is surely something to watch out for.

Not a complete Bluetooth device

With Apple removing it's headphone jack from its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, a Bluetooth headset would be a very good idea, and Sony's MDR-1000X could be one of the best choices. For non -users of Apple's new iPhones, they can still use a 3.5mm cable to plug in Sony's MDR-1000X to their device, Irish Times reported.

Noise cancellation

When the new headset runs out of power, the noise cancellation feature will also turn off, but its ear cups still provide almost the same noise blocking capacity. With a music that is loud enough, background hum is still unnoticeable with Sony's new headset.

But with power and the noise cancelling feature, using MDR-1000X is like going inside a bubble without any noise penetrating from the environment. 

It also has the capacity to let the user allow ambient noise. The user can choose to let ambient noise in or just the voices.

Easy controls

The controls for the noise cancellation feature are at the bottom of the cup for the left ear. Users can easy locate them with their raised edge. Meanwhile, the controls for the volume and track navigation are at the right ear cup. To play or stop a track, the user simply has to tap the center of the cup.

It also has a cool trick where the user can put his or her hand over the cup for the right ear to allow the ambient noise in the headphone.

Convenient design

They are not as flashy as Beats, with beige and black color choices. It has leather cover on its outer cups. It swivels freely and its band is conveniently adjustable, which means it can easily fit any head size. It is also very convenient for travelling.
