‘Rogue One’ TV Trailer ‘A New Hope’; More Star Wars Movie Spin-offs To Be Announced Soon? [VIDEO]

By

Rogue One TV Trailer features an extended TV spot for rebels, Jyn and Cassian, as Disney intensifies its campaign before "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premieres before Christmas. True to its promise, Disney will be bringing more Star Wars movie spin-offs in the future and "Rogue One" is just the first.

Yesterday, Disney released another "Rogue One" TV Trailer titled "A New Hope," which features the dynamics of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna). The extended TV spot allowed viewers a glimpse of the chemistry between Jyn and Cassian as they work together to infiltrate the Imperial Force's rank.

What is different about this extended spot is that it veers away from the somber almost tragic previous trailer where the young Jyn gets separated from his father played by Mads Mikkelsen. The new trailer is lighter even funnier as we see Jyn in disguise as an Imperial Force soldier according to the Collider.

As the holiday nears, Disney is riding on the more festive mood of the people and hopefully brings them to the theaters. The other day, Disney also released a "Rogue One" TV trailer titled the "Dream." This is in reference to Forest Whitaker's passionate outburst to protect the dream, which is Jyn.

The "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" marks the very first movie spin-off of the Star Wars anthology. When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the studio promises to give fans a Star Wars movie every year, which they did with "Rogue One."

"Rogue One" will not be the first spin-off and fans will likely see more spin-offs in the future according to Forbes. In this way, fans will not have to wait that long for the sequel to the saga trilogy to be completed.

However, Disney knows that the spin-off movie will most likely fall short of what "The Force Awakens" has accomplished in the box office. The first movie of the Star Wars saga trilogy ranks third following following "Titanic" and "Avatar."

You may view the "Rogue One" TV Trailer below. The movie hits theaters on Dec. 16.
