"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 4, which is called "An Eternity of Misery" brings Damon to Texas with a mission to find a mysterious artifact.

While in Texas, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) encountered Peter Maxwell (Joel Gretsch), which leads to an unexpected revelation, Showbiz Junkiez reported. After saving Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey), Alaric (Matt Davis) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) collaborated to discover the origins of the unknown force that they are battling against. Amidst all these, Matt (Zach Roerig) returns to the fight as his past and present somehow collided.

Even though, Alaric and Stefan made progress by using a mysterious weapon to defeat Sybil, Damon is still under the Siren's spell, Inquisitr reported. The teaser points out that Sybil may have a sister. During the last episode of TVD, Sybil was locked in a room defeated. However, she can still control Damon from afar.

Sybil also attacked Enzo mentally. Damon is now having images of Sybil in his head and it seems like his memories of Bonnie is fading away. These visions are collisions of the present and future. Since Sybil sees that Damon is protected by the people who loves him, she made sure that these connections will be broken. Sybil first made Damon believe Bonnie is evil to make sure nobody stops Damon from killing the others.

The teaser clip for "An Eternity of Misery" also shows that Sybil could also be attacking Stefan's mind, telling him that he is bound to die like his brother. Stefan must discern which truth to believe because Sybil is manipulative and deceptive. She has the ability to plant the wrong ideas on people's minds to make them follow nobody else but her.

The fourth episode of the final season will air on November 11, Friday 8pmET/PT. The episode was directed by Rob Hardy. The screenplay for this episode are Brett Matthews and Neil Reynolds.
