Facebook rolled out a new feature that allows users to endorse presidential candidates, a move of the social network company that will probably bring even more acrimonious comments about this election cycle into a user's News Feed.

The new Facebook feature works if a user will go onto any candidate's Facebook page, which includes third-party candidates like Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, then tick on the Endorsement in the left-hand column, and the user will add their own endorsement.

The user can choose to make their endorsement public to everyone who visits the candidate's page, or the Facebook user can make their endorsement only to their friends and family, according to Tech Crunch.

Facebook's product manager for civic engagement Samidh Chakrabart said in a statement that similar to how newspapers, organizations and even politicians endorse candidates for elected office, this new Facebook feature allows anyone on the social media site to do the same. Individuals who want to voice their support can visit a candidate's Page, click on the endorsements tab, and explain their rationale for choosing that candidate, Business Insider has learned.

Furthermore, the latest Facebook feature extends beyond the presidential election, such as backing up any politician, government official or a candidate running for office.

If users needs to improve their knowledge on a candidate's platform, Facebook Pages now include an Issues tab, where a person will find quotes and video clips explaining the policies of the nominees. For instance, users can find out what's the point of view of Hillary Clinton regarding education or how Donald Trump feels about taxes without going through external websites, PC Mag reported.

That being said, the race between Clinton and Trump has certainly gathered a lot of online attention, in which the candidate's second debate became the most tweeted ever.
