PlayStation 4 And Xbox One News & Update: ‘Overwatch’-Like Shooter Video Game 'Paladins' Coming To PS4 And Xbox One [VIDEO]

Hi-Rez Studios, the developer on the team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game "Overwatch," is pitching in the shooter video game "Paladins" to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. "Paladins" game has done extremely well during its early access launch on Steam.

The video game developer made it known that the "Overwatch"-like shooter video game will apparently be coming to consoles sometime in the near future, according to Attack Of The Fanboy.

The shooter video game's closed beta sign-ups for PS4 and Xbox One have also gone live, but Hi-Rez Studios did not give a specific release date for when the beta will start, though more information is expected to be unveiled soon.

Despite "Paladins" getting its debut on PC, the video game developer claims that from day one of development, the video game was designed with consoles in mind. The control scheme of the first-person shooter game was polished by famous console gamers, in which they ensure that "Paladins" would feel just right to console shooter enthusiasts.

Being a team-based shooter, "Paladins" lets gamers play with different characters, each gamer can have their own look and abilities, and there has been no shortage of comparisons to "Overwatch."

However, Hi-Rez argues with the idea that the video game is a clone, the developer claims that instead it owes more to "Team Fortress 2" as well as one of Hi-Rez's previous games, Global Agenda. "Paladins" has taken some notes from "Overwatch," based on the report of Game Spot.

Anyway, as "Paladins" debuted on Steam, it most likely helped boost the game's popularity, but the jump into the console market may give the video game the push to break out across demographics, CGMag Online reported.

Nevertheless, the developer made it known that over 1 million individuals have played "Paladins" within its first 10 days of early access release.
