Microsoft Still Amidst Xbox One S; Windows 10 Update Issues?

By

Microsoft has been having issues with its competitors as well as its customers. Sony released the PS4 Pro without the 4K Blu-ray player and Microsoft reportedly emphasized the 4K Blu-ray player on the Xbox One S, simultaneous with the PS4 Pro's release. The company has also received a slew of complaints regarding the Windows 10 Update and the Anniversary Update.

Sony decided not to include a 4K Blu-ray player for PS4 Pro. While Microsoft is yet to confirm if Xbox Scorpio will include a 4K Blu-ray player, the Xbox One S already features a 4K Blu-ray player. On the same day that Sony announced the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, Microsoft tweeted that the Xbox One S features a 4K Blu-ray player. This was said to be business as usual for competing companies and not a sign of disrespect for Sony, GameSpot reported.

In other news, Microsoft Windows 10 has been receiving complaints ever since it was released, from computer upgrades without permission to Windows 10 completely stopping. Microsoft has been urged to honour consumers' rights and compensate those who complained lost files and email accounts not syncing as well as failed WiFi connection. Microsoft customers also reported webcams that stopped working as well as speakers and printers after getting the upgrade.

It is believed that Microsoft should do more than just fix the issues with Windows 10, Which? Director of Policy Alex Neil said. A 12 percent of Microsoft customers who downloaded Windows 10 have reverted to an earlier OS version after experiencing problems, Which? has learned.

Microsoft had been sending persistent alerts and notifications to users prior to the upgrade and then there were several cases reported of upgrading the OS without permission, Telegraph reported. Interestingly, Microsoft paid US customer Teri Goldstein $10,000 to compensate for a computer failure from the Window 10 Update. Several UK customers who had the same problem reportedly got neglected by Microsoft. Which? reportedly told Microsoft to improve its customer service, to repair and to compensate customers who were affected by the upgrade.
