From Smartphones to Driverless Racing Cars – Apple is Buying McLaren’s Technology Including the F1 Racing Team? [RUMORS]

By

Apple's latest rumored product is a driverless car but the struggles they encountered with the design and director has led the tech giant to the doorsteps of the British car maker McLaren. Several reports suggesting that Apple is planning to buy the car maker's various technologies. Does acquiring McLaren means Apple owning the popular Formula One racing team?

Apple's innovative ideas in bringing the driverless cars out had led them into a negotiation with British car maker McLaren. The car maker's various technologies have been the apple of the eye of Apple according to Tech Crunch. These technologies include health monitoring systems, flight scheduling system, economy in time oil and gas drillers for exploration through useful data, efficiency for pharmaceutical companies in conducting drug trials and cutting down idle time of pharmaceutical plants.

Apple is known for lusting innovation in any fields. This is evident when they acquired the headphone brand Beats in 2014 and it is likely to be the same in the case of McLaren. However, Apple's interest in McLaren is not on the fast and expensive cars but with those mentioned various technologies that boil down to measurement. With Apple rumored to be working on an electric car, The Guardian noted that "the two would be a perfect match for each other".

On the other hand, Forbes suggests that McLaren is a bizarre bet to luxury for Apple and the company has probably learned their lessons from the dichotomy of Apple Watch Edition - the most expensive wrist wearable that exists. Now with McLaren selling cars to the 0.01 percent buyers that belong to the higher class of society, Apple might want to think twice regarding the acquisition since the tech giant is targeting for mass sales.

Another report from Forbes suggests that aside from McLaren, Apple has made negotiations with the German car maker BMW regarding the fiber chassis technology which appears to be a good combination for an electric vehicle.
