Surface Phone, which is Microsoft's upcoming contender in the chaotic mobile phone universe, has been kept under wraps for the longest time. But, there are leaks managed to surface some of the latest developments regarding the tech company's yet to be announced smartphone.

It has been speculated that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone will sport a security feature that has been boasted by smartphones in the market, but rumor has it that the Surface Phone will be offering the feature differently, according to Vine Report.

Tech experts recently spotted a patent filed by Microsoft, which they strongly believe it is for the Redmond-based tech giant's much-hyped smartphone. The patent put forward for consideration a fingerprint scanner for the forthcoming Surface smartphone, which will be the first for any Windows-powered device.

Far from the typical biometric feature, the fingerprint scanner will be laid onto the device's display, which is directly underneath the handset's protective glass cover. With that, the screen will act as a fingerprint scanner at the same time.

However, Microsoft is anticipated to release three different versions of the Surface Phone, which can cater to consumers with deep pockets. The base model of the Surface Phone will be packed with 4 gigabyte of RAM and 64 gigabyte of storage, along with a mid-range offering coming with 6 gigabyte of RAM and 128 gigabyte of storage, Express reported.

Reports also mount up the internet claiming the high-end version of the Surface Phone will sport a massive 8 gigabyte of RAM and 512 gigabyte of storage, making the Microsoft Surface Phone beyond the most powerful smartphone on the market today.

In addition, Microsoft's next generation smartphone will come along with a powerful processor. The high-end version of Surface Phone will have all the power it needs to beat down its iPhone rival, based on the report of TCC.

The Surface Phone is speculated to be unveiled anytime this October.
