The good news for Nintendo 3DS players of "Monster Hunter XX" is very advantageous for them. They can still play the game on the 3DS, and they can play together with those who are playing on the Nintendo Switch system.

Cross-Play Feature For Everyone

"Monster Hunter XX" was first released for the Nintendo 3DS back in March, and it became popular in Japan really quickly. When Capcom announced that the video game will have a Nintendo Switch version, many fans rejoiced of this announcement, but some did not think of it that way. They have already bought the 3DS version, which would mean that they would have the inferior version of the video game, Gamespot reported.

Luckily, the game publisher has some good news for the fans who bought the 3DS version. They can still use that because the video game supports a cross-play feature, which means they can play with Nintendo Switch owners with the video game. There is a limitation, which is to be strictly limited to online sessions only.

Switch Version Supports Updated Resolution

The advantage of the Nintendo Switch version is its resolution of the video game. It will have the same content of its first release, but now it will support 1080p resolution when docked, and 720p in handheld mode, which is a big upgrade for the "Monster Hunter" franchise.

Switch Version Other Features

The Nintendo Switch version of the popular video game will also have other features like the option to transfer player save data from the 3DS game to the new Switch version, and vice-versa. "Monster Hunter Generations" saves can be transferred to the Switch version, though the data cannot be transferred back again. The Switch version can support up to four players, which allows them to play together either locally or online.

New Nintendo Switch Version Special Pack Switch Hardware Bundle

Capcom also announced that there will be a "Monster Hunter XX" Nintendo Switch Ver. Special Pack Switch hardware bundle in Japan. It has a price tag of $325.87, and it will include a copy of the video game with a "Monster Hunter" themed Switch dock, Gematsu reported.
