Since it is "Overwatch's" one-year anniversary, Blizzard has now revealed some new stuff for the fans. They are happy to announce that there will be a GOTY edition of the video game, and there will be a free weekend event.

"Overwatch Anniversary" Will Be The Next Event

Blizzard Entertainment has formally announced that the next event will be called "Overwatch Anniversary," which will celebrate the video game's first anniversary since its first launch in May 2016. This event will run from May 23 to June 12, and it will include some new emotes, skins, voice lines, and many more unlockables, Dual Shockers reported.

After the video game's great success, Blizzard also announced that there will be a new Game of the Year Edition for it. It will be released digitally across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and it will have a lot of bonuses. Some of the bonuses are 10 loot boxes with random items, Mercy's wings for "Diablo 3" players, Tracer for "Heroes of the Storm," new Hero Skins, and many more.

New Players To Get Free Weekend Bonus

Blizzard also announced that they will provide a free weekend to introduce new players to the game across all platforms, and this is also to celebrate its one-year anniversary. From May 26 to 29, the free game weekend will run its course on all platforms, and all players that purchase the game during the free trial period will have their progress carried over into the full game.

Blizzard Releases New Video Highlighting Fans

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of "Overwatch," Blizzard Entertainment also released a new video, which can be viewed below, that showcased its fans. It highlighted the game's numerous accomplishments like its release, the "Overwatch" league, and many more. They also thanked the fans for supporting the game and how it became so popular, Dual Shockers reported in another post.
