Nintendo's second home console gets a new physical copy of a video game after being discontinued for nearly 20 years. It will be coming to Japan soon, and it will be a side-scrolling beat 'em up game.

Super Nintendo Gets New Video Game In Physical Form

After being discontinued for almost 20 years, the original Super Nintendo home console gets a new game in a surprising turn after the NES Classic Edition was discontinued. It will be released in Japan this coming summer, Kotaku reported.

The new game is a side-scroll beat 'em up game called "Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero." This was originally launched for the platform through the Satellaview peripheral in 1997, but it was only in digital form. This time around, classic console fans will be able to purchase this game in its glorious physical form.

The cartridge is going to be released to commemorate the video game's 20th anniversary. Interested buyers can purchase the cartridge in Japan for $62 more or less in June.

Super Nintendo Satellaview Peripheral Details

The Super Nintendo had several peripherals to enhance the gameplay experience and the Satellaview was one of them. It was an add-on for the home console, but it was never showcased outside of Japan, and only a few Western fans knew of its existence.

Satellaview was a satellite modem that was plugged to the console, and it allowed players to access digital content like magazines, and additional content for some games. It even allowed full games through a subscription broadcast service.

Inti Creates Praises Nintendo For Its New Console

In other Nintendo related news, Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu has praised Nintendo of its new hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, and its slow rise to popularity. He also explained that it felt like that Nintendo is slowly catching up to the PlayStation 4, which is currently one of the popular home consoles right now. He also revealed that it was easy to become a Switch developer and has plans to create games for it, Dual Shockers reported.
