After the flop of "Mass Effect: Andromeda," it seems like the "Mass Effect" series will be brought down to a halt. BioWare Montreal is said to be scaled down now into a support studio this time around.

"Mass Effect" Series Production Now At Halt

After the bad reviews of "Mass Effect: Andromeda," it was reported that BioWare has now put the "Mass Effect" franchise on hiatus. On top of that, the one that developed the recent game, BioWare Montreal, has been turned into a support studio, Kotaku reported.

This does not mean that the series has been killed off by the game developers. It only means that there will be a long delay for another title to be developed. They are currently letting the series rest for a while rather than put staff members on a follow up of the latest game.

BioWare Montreal Members Transferred to Other Studio

There were some changes being made in the direction of BioWare Montreal. Some of their staff members have been moved to EA Motive, which are making contributions to the upcoming "Star Wars Battlefront II," and another project that will be revealed next year. The rest of the team will either continue working on "Andromeda" multiplayer content or transfer to the new BioWare IP, Gamespot reported.

EA Clarifies With BioWare Changes

EA has clarified that there has been no downsizing at BioWare Montreal, but they did reveal what the other staff members are doing. They confirmed that some of the staff members have moved over to Motive or are now working with other BioWare games.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" Bug Now Fixed

In other "Mass Effect" related news, BioWare has recently fixed an "Andromeda" bug that lets players romance two companions. The game will be getting an upcoming patch that will fix different types of bugs, specifically the one that had an issue of romancing two companions. Some are particularly sad that this bug will be gone, while others are glad that there will not be an issue anymore, Kotaku reported in another post.
