There has not been any big update on the Pixel successor until the latest news arrived. Google reportedly considers using its own processor instead of the rumored Snapdragon 835. As per report from an online publication, Google Pixel 2 could either be using the Snapdragon 835 or its own SoC but the report went on to say that a custom-built processor might not arrive until next year.

Furthermore, the Google Pixel 2 will reportedly be ready in October 2017 and by the time it is launched, Google is also testing the new chip for next year's flagship iteration. Additionally, the next Pixel will ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack as Bluetooth accessories are mushrooming, TheNewsMinute reported.

On the optics front, Google Pixel 2 will most likely to claim the best camera title just like its predecessor. The OIS, dual lens and software tweaks rumors might as well come to fruition. It is obvious that the phonemaker will improve the hardware, software and increase the pixel numbers, too.

Google will reportedly switch to OLED display. This speculation garnered attention after a partnership document leaked online stating that LG will supply the panel for Google Pixel 2. Meanwhile, this year will see no Chromebook Pixel laptop as Google has made no plan for an iterative upgrade, Forbes reported.

That said, the 2017 will see a great competition in the premium smartphone market as the Galaxy S8 launch draws near and Apple is reportedly switching to OLED panels for its iPhone 8. If Google bring major revamps to the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 XXL, it will most likely take on both competitors with an expensive pricetag.
