The new Salmon Run mode is a new co-op horde mode for "Splatoon 2" when it gets released this coming summer. Some of the weird details about this new mode the enemies, which look like monstrous fish, and the goal of the mode, which is to steal their eggs.

New "Splatoon 2" Horde Mode Lets Players Kill Fish And Steal Eggs

While everything about "Splatoon 2" is absurd and nonsense in a fun way, the idea of murdering a lot of monster fishes and stealing their eggs is still weird. The creatures, called the Salmonid," come from the sea climb to the shores with shambling bodies and nightmare-like postures. The goal of stealing the monster eggs is still a mystery until now, but a new trailer, which can be viewed down below, showcases the monstrous fish, Forbes reported.

Nintendo revealed that the new fish monsters in Salmon Run are more dangerous than the Octarians. While the Octarians are the rivals of the Inklings, the new Salmonid species might endanger the lives of the heroes in this game. They also revealed that players can be revived in co-op mode by inking them on the battlefield, Gematsu reported.

"Splatoon 2" Gets New Series Of Amiibo

The game company also revealed that "Splatoon 2" will get a new series of amiibo for fans to collect. There will be three new figures that will be available in retail stores, which are a new color variant of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and a Squid. Syncing these amiibo figures in the game will turn them into friends, remembering custom outfits, weapons, gears, and new options, Polygon reported.

"Splatoon 2" Launch Date For North America, Europe, Japan

Nintendo revealed that the launch date for "Splatoon 2" will be simultaneous for North America, Europe, and Japan. Fans and curious buyers will be able to purchase the game at local retail stores on July 21.
