2K has announced the release of the new Spring 2017 update for "Civilization VI." The game also gets two new civilizations as additional content with Macedon as the second one.

Spring 2017 update

According to the official website of "Civilization VI," the latest update has a lot of game tweaks that will make gameplay a lot better this time around. It is now available for the PC version, with the Mac and Linux releases coming soon.

Major changes

The latest update has some major changes to the PC game like the warmonger penalties have been reduced largely. Players will now receive 20 percent less of a warmongering penalty for declaring war or capturing a city when they have denounced the other player. They will also get 40 percent less penalty for taking a city from a player they are at war with.

For the players who capture a city smaller than the average city in the game, their warmonger penalty is also reduced with this new update. The harbors have been buffed to provide a major adjacent bonus with the City Center.

There was a UI issue for the multiplayer games that did not show all available games before the update. It has been fixed now and it will also show games from additional regions. Several bugs were also fixed with the latest update.

Macedon led by Alexander the Great

Launched together with the Spring 2017 update were two new civilizations, which were Persia and the newly revealed Macedon. The newly revealed civilization is led by Alexander the Great, and he has unique abilities to try out.

The Hellenistic Fusion ability will allow players to gain a bonus after conquering one city, but it will depend on the type of districts that city has built. Alexander also has a bonus that will reduce the amount of war weariness that the Macedon suffers. The new DLC also comes with a new scenario called The Conquests of Alexander.
