Amazon, the $400 billion e-commerce giant, this week announced a new version of its Amazon Music app, Amazon Music for iOS. The latest update is said to bring support for Apple's CarPlay., offering access to Amazon's on-demand music streaming service via the car's infotainment system. Amazon made the huge announcement this week.

For a starter, Apple's CarPlay is the company's premier car-connected applications that provide access to various Apple mobile apps such as Music, Apple Maps, iMessage, Podcasts and more. CarPlay also provides access to third-party apps such as iHeartRadio, Spotify, Audible and more.

The Seattle-based e-commerce giant this week began rolling out a new update for its Amazon Music for iOS app. Amazon Music's latest update will provide users the ability to connect their Apple's iPhones to the vehicle's CarPlay-enabled infotainment system, and then access Amazon's vast music library via the iPhone's Amazon Music for iOS app.

As mentioned earlier by the tech-focused site Slash Gear, the Apple Music on CarPlay-enabled infotainment system will allow users to access Amazon Music and made some purchases or even saved some music. Additionally, the features will also provide users a means of accessing the Amazon Prime Music and also the Music Limited offerings. For those new on Amazon Music Unlimited, Amazon is currently offering a 30-day trial to test music before signing up as a subscriber.

Amazon Music, which can be downloaded from the App Store for free, is already available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Currently, there are plenty of ways to get an access to the vast Amazon Music. For the Amazon Prime subscription, the company is offering a $7.99 per month or $79 per year subscription, while for the non-Prime subscription, subscribers can opt for the $9.99 per month subscription package.

Amazon is also offering a low-cost single device plan for the users of the Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, and Amazon Tap. Users of these devices can gain access to Amazon Music by signing up with the $3.99 per month single device offering. The, there's also the flexible Family plan subscription for the Amazon Prime members that costs $149 per year.

First released in 2007, Amazon Music is an online music store and music content library. This music service has become the first online music store to sell music without DRM (digital rights management) from the four major music labels, which Sony BMG, Warner Music, Universal, and EMI.
