The Esti Eye smartphone case is basically an Android device strapped to the back of an iPhone.

Whenever your iPhone is upside down, the Esti Eye case serves as a secondary screen. In fact, users can now take selfies using their rear cameras, resulting in better quality images. Currently, the breakthrough phone accessory is seeking to fund on Kickstarter.

Esti Eye iPhone case: Specs

According to Mac Rumors, the Esti Eye iPhone case features a 5" AMOLED display powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU. It runs its own 2800mAH battery and offers up to 256GB memory capacity. Among the two variants of the case, one comes with 4G LTE connectivity.

The Esti Eye is reportedly compatible with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, and 7 Plus. Interestingly, it is powered by the latest Android 7.1 Nougat. The Android case connects to the iOS device using its Lightning port to enable file transfer, power sharing, and storage enhancement.

All in all, the Esti Eye case brings all the functionalities of Android to Apple handsets. Thus, the iPhone can already offer dual SIM slots, a headphone jack, and microSD storage. Other specs include the native call recording, file explorer, and Android apps made available to iOS.

How much is the Esti Eye iPhone case?

Given that the Esti Eye is on Kickstarter, CNET reported that it may retail for as low as $189. The high-end model with 4G LTE connectivity sells for about $229. Both options are expected to ship starting August.

Moreover, the Esti Eye iPhoe case sports both NFC and infrared technologies. The latter can be used to remotely control televisions and air-conditioners. Nonetheless, it is notably lacking its own mic and speakers. For the record, this is not the first iPhone case to run Android as Jija launched the Mesuit case last year.
