Rockstar Games pushed back the release of the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 6" to an undisclosed date. One factor being looked at for the delay is the release of the company's "Red Dead Redemption 2" in fall 2017.

The previous announcement by Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies confirmed there would be a "GTA 6." However, aside from the statement, no other details were provided regarding the game. It is acknowledged that the game is in the works, but no further details were given.

The gap between releases has already been wide with "GTA 5" having been released back in 2013. The gap suggests that it is right about time for a "GTA 6" release. However, the impending release of "Red Red Dead Redemption 2" might hamper "GTA 6" release, which might still be under development.

Of the many speculations that came out regarding "GTA 6," one particular note of interest is that it will reportedly be dabbling in virtual reality (VR), according to Trusted Reviews. If this rumor turns out true, then it would be a major boost to the franchise, however, as with all rumors, nothing can be confirmed until the studio itself makes an official statement.

Some reports indicated that fans might be in wait up to 2020 for a "GTA 6" release could come to be. Accordingly, "GTA 5's" multiplayer component, GTA Online was supported by Rockstar with regular updates since its release in 2013. If the same treatment will be done similarly with "Red Dead Redemption 2," then Rockstar would have a lot on their hands and be busy for a couple of years, according to Expert Reviews.

Other speculations regarding "GTA 6" are that it might go beyond a city map. Others speculate that its map could be country-sized. Still, others put in their conjecture that it might be set in another country altogether, possibly London, England.

For the moment, fans will have to make do and wait for further official announcements regarding "GTA 6." There plenty of video game events lined up in 2017, and it would not be far-fetched if Rockstar can give details and official statements in one or two of them.
