A French businessman is suing Uber for €45 million, equivalent to almost US$48 million, believing Uber's technology is the reason his marriage ended.

The unnamed businessman from Côte d'Azur in the south of France is putting the blame on Uber for breaking up his marriage. The ordeal he said started when he borrowed his wife's phone and logged into Uber, according to Boston Herald.

Even after being logged out of Uber from his wife's phone, the Uber app still sent notifications to it every time he took an Uber ride. His wife would be notified of the pick up location, destination, and time. This exposed his whereabouts to his wife who surmised that her husband was having an affair, which eventually ended up with the wife filing for a divorce.

Uber declined to give any comment citing they do not discuss individual cases, and especially those that concern things such as divorce procedures, according to The Telegraph.

The man suspected a bug in the Uber app which seemed to have a technical fault that once the user logs into Uber using another device, it gives updates to the other device or devices, even if the used it just one, and has since then logged out of.

It has been found that the Uber app bug, seem to be limited to the iOS versions of the updated app, after Dec. 16, 2116. Other reports say that it affects older versions of the iOS itself. The first hearing of the divorce proceedings is scheduled next month, the report said.

The French businessman claims that this Uber app bug cost him his marriage and therefore, seeking damages from the app-based car service. Few reports of divorce cases cite Uber records, however, the advent of GPS data gathering and apps like Find my iPhone has led jealous wives to use the tracking technology and girlfriends to track their mates.
