A leak has proven that ZTE is the latest smartphone maker to go into and develop an Android Wear device. ZTE is reportedly coming out with its first smartwatch called, Quartz.

The latest entrant into the Android Wear market, it seems, is ZTE with Quartz. To clarify, the coming ZTE Quartz is a different device the company came up with in 2015, that bears the same name. Previously, ZTE came out with a 5.5-inch smartphone, running on Android 4.3 Jellybean, also called Quartz.

The leak was reportedly pointed at Evan Blass, who spilled the beans by providing an image, which he claims are sourced from a marketing material. Blass said the leaked promo is very light on details.

The leaked round-faced ZTE Quartz smartwatch, was recently spotted with the Bluetooth certification model number ZW10, Pocket-Lint reported. The Bluetooth SIG certificate also revealed that the smartwatch features UMTS 3G cellular connectivity and a Wi-Fi radio, which means the watch will be capable of making and receiving calls on the wrist. Reportedly, the ZTE Quartz will be able to pair with Android versions 4.3 and up. Quartz can also be paired with iOS 8.2 for iPhones, said the report.

ZTE's confirmation earlier this month that they are working on an Android smartwatch, hinted the smartwatch would work as a standalone device. Apparently, ZTE said that it already has the backing of a US network lined up and that it would come with LTE, which would mean, it would not be necessary to have your phone with you.

Today's launch of Android Wear 2.0 will also cater to the official introduction of the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style. Both devices will feature the new software release, according to GSM Arena. Google, for its part, announced, many more smartwatches featuring Android Wear 2.0 are coming within the year.

Other expected releases are LG's Android Wear smartwatches, Casio, New Balance, and reportedly, a Swarovski Android Wear smartwatch is happening.
