Great news for "World of Warcraft" players, as they can now use "WoW" tokens for Battle.net funds. The digital currency can also be used to pay for other supported Blizzard games. Here's the details.

"World of Warcraft" gold for Battle.net purchases

Per IGN, the "World of Warcraft'" official site said that players who visit the in-game Auction House and get a "WoW" token (or $20 USD of real-world money) can now pick whether to add an additional 30 days of play time to their account, or redeem it to their Battle.net balance and transfer $15 USD (amount varying by region) to their account.

Mashable added that this move by Blizzard bridged the gap between some of its most popular titles, which now allows players to use "World of Warcraft" to get "Overwatch" lootboxes, "Hearthstone" and many more from the Battle.net shop.

"World of Warcraft": how much are the tokens now?

How much gold do you need for a "World of Warcraft" token? Well, prices changes with the in-game market. Before Blizzard made the announcement, "WoW" tokens on U.S. servers were selling for about 60,000 gold, according to WoWTokenPrices.com. Rates on European servers have gone up, going from about 110,000 gold per token on Monday to more than 200,000 gold per Token as of writing.

"World of Warcraft": implications on players

For players who rely on "World of Warcraft" tokens to purchase 'WoW" game time ($15 for 30 days), things seem to be going against their favor but for "WoW" gold freaks, this would be the perfect time to sell some "WoW" tokens.

In addition, this also means that the worth of gold on the "World of Warcraft" auction house may also vary. If many players are buying "WoW" tokens with gold, it becomes more scarce and prices for other in-game items and resources may fall.

Are you a "World of Warcraft" player? Have you done some shopping with your "WoW" gold?
