Samsung might have earlier announced that they will not unveil any smartphones during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, Spain this year, but that does not mean they will come to the event empty handed.

Samsung just sent out invites for a press conference on Feb. 26, 2017. If they are not going to release any phones, then it might just as well be another Samsung product worth looking into. The teaser image sports a familiar silhouette that shows what appears to be the lower third portion of a tablet, according to 9To5Google.

Two Samsung tablet models were presented to the FCC and gained certification very recently, a WiFi only (SM-T825) and an LTE (SM-T820). These can certainly be taken as the final proof that Samsung might introduce these two tablets during MWC 2017, according to Slash Gear.

It would seem Samsung is taking a bit of a risk introducing new tablets in the market. This is in consideration that tablet sales have been in decline for some time now. Leaked benchmark listing has shown system specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3:

According to GSM Arena, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 will come thinner than its predecessor at 5.6mm. Additionally, they say that it will come with "enhanced portability," and running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The tablets are rumored to borrow many features from the Samsung Galaxy S7 that alone can put a serious dent in iPad Air 2 sales.

As always with any leak, nothing is deemed official until Samsung officially gives out details about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. A year of rumors is probably worth the wait, a few more weeks, and it is hoped, that what is to be revealed at MWC 2017 would have better specs than what is rumored.
