Nokia is expected to reveal new Android smartphones in the coming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, Spain this coming February, however, a Nokia tablet device was spotted on GFXBench recently running Android Nougat, and it is huge.

Although not new to the tablet market, their offerings of earlier models did not get much traction for it to gain market share. Things could change for Nokia reportedly has an 18.4-inch device undergoing benchmark tests over at GFXBench.

Though reports do not specifically identify the product as Nokia, the device seems to run Android 7.0 Nougat, FIH Edition from Foxconn, who incidentally has a license to build Nokia branded devices, according to Ubergizmo.

Nokia Tablet specs

The Nokia device has an 18.4-inch display having a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It has a 2.2GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset touted to be the chipset of choice for most flagships for 2017. A Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU supports the device.

It has 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. Both front and back cameras are 12MP with the back having LED Flash and are equipped with auto focus. Reportedly, the main camera also supports Ultra HD video recording at a resolution of 3840 x 2160. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Compass, GPS, and NFC. It supports a single SIM and as said, runs on Android Nougat FIH Edition, according to Trusted Reviews.

Though it is not unheard of, it is quite early for Nokia to release such a humongous tablet in its revival. But it is not impossible considering HMD Global who now has the license to produce Nokia devices is hell bent on resurrecting the brand by injecting serious investment in it.

It is still not clear what other features the new Nokia device might have. However, a tablet this size would directly put it in league with Samsung's Galaxy View launched back in 2015. In terms of size at least. Nokia is scheduled to release new devices at MWC 2017; however, it is not clear whether the tablet will be one of those to be unveiled at the event.
