"Iron Fist" Season 1 will feature the mystical city of K'un-Lun as one of the show's film locations as revealed by a cast member via an Instagram post. Moreover, the entire season will be available for streaming on March 17 in Netflix.

Marvel-Netflix has kept "Iron Fist" Season 1 under wraps, but fans are now excited about the possible inclusion of the mystical city of K'un-Lun as setting for the story. This was revealed by "Iron Fist" star Jessica Henwick who plays Colleen Wing in an Instagram post while on location filming the new Marvel-Netflix show.

"Iron Fist" Season 1 Setting

Unlike other superheroes who were exposed to chemicals, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) got his super abilities in the mystical city of K'un-Lun, a hidden city in the K'un-Lun mountain range in China. The city is only accessible through an inter-dimensional nexus that only opens once in a decade.

Fans got excited about the inclusion of K'un-Lun as a backdrop for "Iron Fist" Season 1 since many expected that most of the scenes will be shot in New York City just like in "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage." However, Danny Rand's back story needs to have a proper reveal in order for viewers to get to know his character especially those not immersed in the Marvel comics, according to Cinema Blend.

Danny will meet Luke Cage in "The Defenders" airing later this year, but other characters from the Marvel-Netflix Universe will make a crossover now and then, namely, Misty Knight (Simone Missick), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie Ann-Moss), Science Fiction has learned,

"Iron Fist" Season 1 Comics Back Story

The Marvel comics provides the back story for "Iron Fist" Season 1 with the mystical city of K'un-Lun figuring prominently in Danny's life. His father was born in the city, but later left to start a family in the U.S.

Danny returned to the mystical city after his parent's death, learning his abilities under a martial arts master. Danny's hard work and determination finally earned him the power of the Iron Fist, which he now takes back to the U.S.
