"Luke Cage" season 2 will take-off from the post-"The Defenders" storyline, bringing in Iron Fist as best friend/business partner just like in the comics and Misty Knight may get a bionic arm to play a detective/superhero. Meanwhile, while fans wait for the still far-off season 2, Marvel-Netflix will be re-releasing "Luke Cage," "Daredevil," and "Jessica Jones" in HDR format.

"Luke Cage" season 2 was announced early this month that it will return to Netflix after a successful first season run. Season 2 will most likely air on 2018 since Marvel-Netflix still has upcoming shows for 2017, namely, "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders."

"Luke Cage" Season 2 Cast

Mike Colter who played the main protagonist will reprise his role as Luke Cage with showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker at the helm. Though not officially announced, it would be unwise for the producers to change the cast after a successful "Luke Cage" season 1 run.

Moreover, Misty Knight played by Simone Missick may be re-classified as a superhero just like in the comics after losing an arm and replacing it with a bionic once courtesy of Tony Stark. This was teased in "Luke Cage" season 1 later episodes where Misty had a severe injury, but she soon recovered with arms intact.

"Luke Cage" Season 2 Post-"The Defenders"

"Luke Cage" season 2 will follow the storyline after "The Defenders" meaning that viewers may also be seeing Danny Rand a.k.a Iron Fist in the show as the best friend and future business partner of Luke. Iron Fist will debut his own solo outing in 2017, which will establish his character's own storyline further although viewers will see the two meeting for the first time in "The Defenders."

"Luke Cage" Season 2 Villains

Mariah Dillard played by Alfre Woodard was the most successful villain besides Cottonmouth and Diamondback that Luke Cage faced in "Luke Cage" season 1, having gotten away with murder and sent Luke to prison. It is highly likely that she will return to "Luke Cage" season 2 and Luke will surely do everything he can to let her account for all her wrongdoings according to Cinema Blend.

"Luke Cage" Season 1 Streaming in HDR

While fans wait for "Luke Cage" season 2. Marvel-Netflix is enticing viewers to re-watch the show by re-releasing "Luke Cage" season 1 in HDR format through a collaboration with a post-production company, Deluxe. High Dynamic Range is the future of streaming with focus on pixel accuracy in color variety, contrast and luminosity according to iDigital Times.
