Most fans would agree that there is nothing more agitating than there is than a company having to change due to a take-over. After several reports of the renowned French video game publisher Ubisoft claiming that Vivendi is on the verge of taking over the company, news have surfaced around that the latter has again slowly increasing its shares. On top of the threat of take over looming around, reports have also shown that their servers are currently struggling due to a demand of "Assassin's Creed 3." 

It was previously reported that Vivendi, a French multinational mass media conglomerate, has slowly been increasing their shares in the company since 2015 in an attempt to take over the acclaimed video game developer Ubisoft, University Herald noted.

It was stated therein that Ubisoft have been suspicious of the idea for some time now and that, if things did push through and Vivendi gets to take over the company, things might never be the same again.

Recently, it has been reported that Vivendi has again raised its shares in Ubisoft to a total of 25.15 percent and 22.92 percent of their voting rights, Polygon learned. It was said that this increment was upped from a previous 23 percent stake in the French video game publisher.

However, a representative from Vivendi released a statement, which was filed with the French Securities regulator, denying the allegations by saying that they are not considering acquiring the control of Ubisoft.

In fact, a press release over at Vivendi's website claims that they are actually looking forward to a harmonious cooperation and collaboration with Ubisoft. It was said that their attempts to increase their share in the company was a way for them to strategically work together with the latter.

Ubisoft President Yves Guillemot said that the creeping control strategy being used by Vivendi is threatening the company and that it would merely put its shareholders value at risk, according to the source.

In other news, Ubisoft's support team have reported that their servers are currently stuggling due to the demand of people downloading a free copy of "Assassin's Creed 3," PC Gamer noted.

It was said that ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed 3" is the last free game that was recently released to fans in celebration of the company's 30-year anniversary. As such, the source has suggested that fans wait it out for a while before they download the game, which will be available for free until the end of the month.
