Niantic confirms new Pokémon characters to come soon to Pokémon Go and what's more interesting is rumor that Niantic collaborated with Starbucks for the promotion of the new characters. 

The rumor about the new Pokémon characters has been circulating throughout the Pokémon Go community and now that it's already confirmed by the developer just adds excitement to the players. In the announcement of Niantic's partnership with Sprint, John Hanke, the Pokémon Go creator teased that they have planned new experiences and events for their loyal supporters. Added that players may watch out for the details about the new characters for the Pokémon Go on Dec. 12.

Now that the planned events have been laid out and the new addition to the Pokemon characters have been confirmed, fans are just as eager to know what these characters will be and Mashable pointed out two possibilities. Niantic may either release some or all of the generation one legendary Pokemon including Articuno, Mew, Mewto, Moltress and Zapdoes; or release the 100 new Pokemon from the second generation although both options may also happen.

Before the new Pokemon characters arrive, why not first update your Pokemon Go for better gaming experience? The Pokemon Go 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS update will give trainers the ability to transfer multiple Pokemon to Professor Willow at a time, new Pokemon type icons were also added to the gym battle approach. Buddy Pokemon's candy count is now added to the buddy information screen as well as the total kilometers of each Pokemon buddy.

Rumor is rife that Starbucks will participate to promote the new Pokémon characters following the recent leak of the employees' manual for the new beverage, the Pokémon Go Frappuccino Blended Cream. The beverage, with a blended flavor of raspberry and blackberry is said to coincide with the berry in the in-game items and is said to be available starting Dec.8, Forbes reported.
