In a recent update, Microsoft hinted a possible release of the Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2, and Surface Phone in a February 2017 event. The company will be delivering premium devices to its millions of fans with the updated line-up of devices.

The upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come with refreshed specs from the Surface Pro 4. GameNGuide indicates that the new device will carry a smaller 12.3 inch screen compared to the 13.5 inches of the Surface Book i7.

In addition, the 2-in-1 hybrid device is expected to have 3:2 aspect ratio of screen display, which has the capability to support full AMOLED 4K video output. Its improved battery addressed the controversial draining issue on its previous handsets. Also, a more refined Surface Pen for a more immersive and interactive usage experience is added, alongside a new keyboard peripheral.

Like all upcoming Surface devices, the Surface Book 2 is expected to pack the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors, 13.5-inch display with a 3,840 x 2,160 screen resolution to support 4k video capacity.

Another big change on the Surface Book 2 is the addition of a VR support. It might also update to a less-powerful GPU option, such as the GeForce GTX 980M. Moreover, its use of the Kaby Lake processors, which would not be available until next year, further supported the Surface Book 2's possible unveiling in 2017.

With the company's lack of offerings in terms of smartphone technology, Surface Phone is introduced to compete with smartphone market leaders such as Apple and Samsung by focusing on a market-defining device that offers real value and differentiation, Digital Trends reported.

After the stand-alone mobile OS Windows Phone and the Lumia hardware line were canceled, Microsoft's mobile efforts will work on claiming Surface Phone as the "ultimate mobile device."

Recent information on the smartphone points that it will utilize Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC), and run a 64-bit version of Windows 10 Mobile with an enhanced version of Microsoft's large-screen PC-like environment, Continuum, that supports legacy x86 applications.

The company also sees a wider range of functionality on the mobile device through its ability to connect to an external keyboard, mouse, and display and run full desktop applications like Office 2016 or Adobe Photoshop, which taken as an advantage by business customers and students.
