The "Justice League" ensemble may be joined by Channing Tatum who is rumored to play Shazam and not X-Men's Gambit, which appears to be shelved indefinitely. Moreover, the DC's baddest and biggest super villain, Darkside, is believed to closely resemble Marvel's Thanos, prompting producers to delay his debut until the hype on "The Avengers: Infinity War" dies down.

As the "Justice League" wraps up filming for DC's newest superhero team, various rumors have been circulating what else will be coming from the DC Extended Universe. One of these persistent rumors involves Channing Tatum who may be debuting as Shazam in "Justice League" and will eventually get his own solo movie in the works.

There are no official announcements yet, but fans are already anticipating Tatum's appearance in future DC movies. Tatum is one of the few actors that DC has approached, according to a Cinema Blend report. Actors like Emily Blunt, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain are being eyed by the studio to be a part of DCEU.

Tatum is a fan favorite because the actor does not only fit Shazam's physicality, but also his personality especially his humor. Tatum's performances in action comedies like "21 Jump Street" and "White House Down" show that the actor can do intense fight scenes and also have comedic timing as reported by Movie News Guide.

In the meantime, the people behind Warner Brothers and DC Comics have revealed that they are currently working on extensive material to bring the comics into the big screen. With the success of Marvel comics' jump to films, DC also wants to reach out to comic fans by bringing their beloved characters and telling their stories in the big screen.

The studio is set on featuring the biggest and baddest villain of DCEU, Darkseid. However, Darkseid is believed to be much like Marvel's Thanos, both are galactic powerful beings intent to conquer the universe. So as not to be overshadowed by Marvel's villain, Darkseid may just have to sit it out for a few years until "The Avengers: Infinity War" gets its release in 2018.
