It seems that Apple Inc. is venturing with foldable or bendable display technology, and may even use the technology in future iPhones, particularly in the upcoming iPhone 8.

Multiple online reports have been claiming that the Cupertino based tech giant has been awarded a patent having serial number 9,485,862, and the patent is titled as the electronic devices with carbon nanotube printed circuits that features a bendable or foldable design.

In the patent filing, the tech company brought up possible uses of carbon nanotubes for creating a bendable or foldable device. The accompanying photo clearly shows a tablet-like gadget that can be folded that outlines a smartphone. Also, the tech monster has mentioned a Ceramic as one of the materials that can be utilized in the foldable device, Gadgets Now reported.

In spite of that, it has been said that Apple filed the patent back in 2014. This means that the tech giant may have already started working on the foldable iPhone model. Even so, the competitors of Apple, such as LG and Samsung, were the only ones rumored to be working on handsets with foldable displays. Samsung already been rolling out devices with curved displays.

Furthermore, rumors have been spinning around the internet since the iPhone 7 was launched, that the next-generation iPhones will be staying away from conventional design and the usual features stashed under its hood. Reports are claiming that the next Apple smartphone will boast a wireless charging feature, though there are some competitors in the smartphone industry who have already featured such technology in their handsets.

Anyway, the iPhone 8 release date appears to be slated for sometime in the fall of 2017. The iPhone 8 is still under development, and in the months ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated smartphone, tech fans will undoubtedly learn more about the details of the device, according to Mac Rumors.
