According to an Anime News Network report, CLAMP published its latest version of Cardcaptor Sakura in Nakayoshi, a manga magazine.  In its November issue, it said that a new anime project is underway and fans will get more updates on Cardcaptor Sakura once the periodocal releases its December issue.

Cardcaptor Sakura debuted in the 1990s in both anime and manga series.  It became an instant hit with throngs of followers.  It tells the story of Sakura Kinomoto, an elementary student who possess magical powers and tasked to save the world.

The crucible of the plot requires her to capture magical cards that she accidentally set free and must retrieve after being chosen by mystical guardians of the cards. If successful, she will be tested to determine whether she is worthy to be the cards' new master.

The anime series of "Cardcaptor Sakura" became popular back in 1996 and this year marks its 20th Anniversary. Madman Entertainment later released the TV series in Australia and New Zealand.
