Benedict Cumberbatch is conquering American shores as the newest Marvel hero in "Doctor Strange" and with his iconic role in BBC's "Sherlock Holmes."  The actor is also set to host the Saturday Night Live (SNL) on Nov. 5.

It will be a first for Cumberbatch to host SNL, but he is fairly game with a live audience even doing a humorous Dr. Strange sketch in the Jimmy Kimmel Live as reported by ComicBook. Viewers may be able to see the actor doing another Dr. Strange or a Sherlock, characters known for their quick wit and arrogance.

Cumberbatch is known for his thespian skills, having played a wide array of roles. However, his rise to stardom was opened by his modern-day Sherlock Holmes role.

Cumberbatch can also do villains like in the "Star Trek into Darkness" or an academy worthy role with his nomination as Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game." Not known to many, the actor can also sing and make good impersonations of Alan Rickman and Graham Norton.

As host of SNL, Cumberbatch is all set to show his comedic side. After all, he did compare himself to an otter, prompting various memes that went viral.

We will see Benedict Cumberbatch as the SNL host on Nov. 5, a day after the release of his movie "Doctor Strange" in the United States according to Just Jared. Joining him as the celebrity musical guest star is Solange Knowles.

Viewers may also expect Kate Mckinnon and Alec Baldwin reprising their impersonations of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump respectively, the show's last take at the elections

SNL is in its 42nd season with its ratings consistently good as it tackles present day issues with humorous sketches. The show also features new songs by enlisting musical guests. Cumberbatch joins the A-listers with Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Margot Robbie, and Emily Blunt as celebrity guests in the more recent episodes of the show.
