If Samsung cannot confirm any rant about Galaxy S8 release date and specs, then the latest leak of Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset might be able to do so.

Snapdragon 830 rumored for Galaxy S8 spotted in India's export-import site

A recent leak shows that the Snapdragon 830 chipset is being shipped to India. Going further through the detail, the Snapdragon 830 was shipped from the United States, and being installed in a 'prototype' sporting 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, PhoneArena reported.

Corroborating the rumor, a post from Reuters claimed that Samsung has signed a deal with Qualcomm as a 'sole contract manufacturer' of the high-end chips using 10-nm technology. It will then be used in an updated Galaxy S series, which is expected to launch in 2017.

With the reports point at a new Galaxy S phone released in 2017, it can be argued that Samsung's plan to reveal the S8 and S8 Edge will come to fruition. The most-speculated unveiling timeframe would be during the MWC 2017 event in February.

Samsung Galaxy S8 rumored specifications

Aside from the rattlings of its release date, there have been leaks and analysis on the Galaxy S8 specifications. The 4K-gaming compatible device is rumored to sport dual-camera, and will be offered in two variants - Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge - with a display pixel density as high as 806 ppi. A previous leaked document has even stated that Galaxy S8 could run dual OS.

The handset is said to be launched simultaneously with the foldable Galaxy X; however, there has not been much information to dig about Galaxy X. Will we ever see the three revolutionary products at MWC or whether Galaxy X is Galaxy S8 itself - we'll just have to stay tuned.
