Looks like a good news for gadget freaks as the official unveiling of Google's next Android smartphones dubbed as the Pixel and Pixel XL is just around the corner.

If rumor mill is to be believed, the purported Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones (formerly known as Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin respectively), are likely to hit the store shelves soon, in fact reports claim that there is no more than a month left before the rumored devices make their much awaited appearance.

Much to the dismay of the huge Nexus fanbase, previous reports indicated that Google is dumping the Nexus brand completely and will be rolling out the ex-Nexus devices under a different name. We now know, it's going to launch them under the Pixel and Pixel XL brand name.

Meanwhile, rumor mills have not ceased swirling speculations around the highly anticipated smartphones as we learn new and interesting details about them almost daily.

Earlier this month, reports indicating that the Pixel and Pixel XL will be the first Snapdragon 821 smartphones to hit the store shelves in the US were doing rounds. While there's still no concrete evidence to support this claim, a new rumor centering on the XL's pricing in the States have surfaced online.

As reported by David Ruddock of Android Police, the Google Pixel XL will be up for grabs for a price tag of $649 at launch, but he didn't know which version will cost that.

According to Ruddock, Google is likely to offer device financing options for the new phones, but that's pretty much all that is known about it at the moment.

Ruddock did not say anything about pricing for the Pixel phone, but chances are it will be cheaper than the XL, PhoneArena reported.

If the search engine giant charges $649 for the 128GB Pixel XL, that would position it in line with Nexus 6P (2015), which went on sale for $499 in the beginning, but eventually maxed out at $649 for the same storage capacity, TechnoBuffalo reported.

Google is likely to charge $649 for the 32GB variant and still be competitive with flagship devices from popular smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple.
