"Pokemon Uranium," a fan-made game that has been in the making for nine long years, is no longer available for download from the developer's official website. After being released for a week, the game was taken down in accordance to Nintendo's request.

"Pokemon Uranium" download hit more than 1.5 million times which made it popular and caused it to go under Nintendo's radar. Because of this, the team behind the game was notified by lawyers representing Nintendo of America to take down the game. Therefore, the download links from the official website were removed.

However, unofficial sources of "Pokemon Uranium" surfaced after the takedown. Players who want to get hold of the game may check the download links from unofficial sources. But, downloading those links is risky and the said links are believed to be extremely cautious according to the developers of the game, Torrent Freak reported.

"Pokemon Uranium" is not the first fan-made game that was terminated by the original game developer. Another fan-made popular game, AM2R: Another Metroid 2 Remake, was also taken down and out by Nintendo reportedly.

Meanwhile, "Pokemon Uranium" was rolled out on Saturday, Aug. 6, Kotaku reported. The game features more than 150 new Pokemon creatures to catch, including some familiar face which mutated due to the radiation in the new region, Tandor. The player is challenged to battle with wild Pokemon creatures while collecting gym badges to become a true Pokemon master.

"Pokemon Uranium" sports a similar vibe like the original Pokemon titles on Game Boy which may be the reason why it is appealing to Pokemon fans. The game also introduced Nuclear, a new type that mixes up battle scenes. This type is said to be string against any other creature but also weakens against every type.
