"Pokemon Go" app trackers from third party sources have been blocked by Niantic. "Pokemon Go" players recently experienced a major drawback in their gameplay experience after the latest game update.

Due to the critical response from players, Niantic issued a statement through its official Facebook page and explained why the nearby Pokemon notification system called the three-step display was removed.

Niantic has reportedly tweaked some changes in the system to improve some aspects of the "Pokemon Go" game. In their post, the game developer explained that they had to remove the three step feature in the game in order to improve upon the underlying design.

In addition to the removal of the three-step display, Niantic has also limited access to the game's Application Program Interface (API). Because of that, the popular PokeVision tool and other third-party applications and services for "Pokemon Go" have completely lost functionality in the game.

Niantic said that some third-party services were interfering with their ability to maintain their quality of service. They had to limit the game's API access in order for them to bring "Pokemon Go" to users around the world, CNET reported.

The game developer also said that although the original feature was enjoyed by many, it was at the same time confusing and did not meet the company's underlying product goals. Niantic reassured "Pokemon Go" fans that hey will be working to improve the said feature.

Pokemon hunters previously considered Pokevision as the most popular app tracker. However, alternatives have started to pop-out following Pokevision ban.

  1. FastPokeMap "Pokemon Go" Tracker: One of the budding populars is the Fast Poke Map. The tracker uses geocoding API and Open Street Map, Slash Gear reported.
  2. PokeGoFind "Pokemon Go" Tracker: PokeGoFind is a tracker that notifies users when rare Pokemons are present within a vicinity.
  3. Smart Poke V2 "Pokemon Go" Tracker: The app shows a nearby Pokemon and details the amount of time that the creature will remain in a certain location.

"Pokemon Go" is suggested to be launched in different parts of the world soon. Niantic said that they are working crazy hours to make sure that the game will continue to run smoothly as it prepares for the game's international launch. Watch the new "Pokemon Go" tracking system here.
