Based on Downdetector report on early Tuesday, July 26, Instagram is down and it is only available as an app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The outages hit most areas within Northeast of the U.S.

Maybe Instagram users will take a break in taking selfie as the photo-sharing has crashed on Monday night, July 25. Currently, the site that detects which technology fails, Downdetector, said the Instagram is still down, however, its app is available on iPhone, Android devices, and iPad.

The makers of Instagram app advised users via Twitter to reinstall the app, International Business Times reported.

"We're aware of an issue that may be crashing the app for a small number of people. If you're experiencing this, please reinstall Instagram," Instagram wrote.

On Tuesday, although users followed the instructions given by the photo-sharing site, many of them still complained because Instagram was still crashing.

An online user post a thread on Reddit. He/she said the app works after re-installing, however, it crashes again when it closed. Apparently, the bug affected all versions of the app, including Android, iOS and Windows, based on the complains on social media.

Some users agreed that after re-installation, the app works, but suddenly crashes again. Some reports suggest that some users are not able to use the app at all. The outage issues seem to occur in the U.S., Japan, and some parts of Southeast Asia.

If Instagram app is still not working after removing the app, then re-installing, another option is to visit Instagram via mobile browser, iDigitalTimes suggested. Instagram has no web browser, so users should use mobile browsers like Safari and Chrome. The website version is similar to the app version, and it will allow you to post, reply to post, or hit like a photo/video.
