Mobile phones were thought to be bad for students but applications that are helping students are now circulating the app stores.

The hearsays about mobile phones as procrastination tools are now disproven.  These applications have been sent by the gods while staying at a university, a studentwrote on Times Higher Education

The list of suggested application are as follows:

1.Readability.  Readability is a reading list app which allows the user to save web pages when connected to the Internet so it can be used while offline. The said application has a feature where users can add a web page as favorite and easily come back to it.

2. Google Calendar. This free calendar application allow students to download their lecture schedules from the university's website. Other events can also be added and color-coded to organize tasks easily. Google Calendar also allows the user to look at their schedules in different views: daily, weekly, monthly.

3. Alarmy: Sleep IF You Can.  This alarm application is brutal yet helpful. It requires to take a picture of an object that the user has set in order for the alarm to be switched off. Alarmy also has weather update feature to help users decide whether they should bring an umbrella or not, Top University reported.

4. Camscanner. This application takes clear photos with texts.  Features of this app includes choosing the proper color for the image to make it readable. It also sports a naming so users can easily access their photos.  The app also allows taking of photos in batches which is an alternative to the old way of scanning the book.

These applications are available for Android and iPhone. All of these apps are also free except Alarmy which costs $1.99 in iTunes.
