A 15-year-old kid is able take unrefined data from satellite imagery and places it in crucial perspective. William Gadoury, 15, has been obsessed with Mayan narrative after the endless media frenzy about the 'end of the world' prophecy of 2012.

The kid became curious on why the Mayans resided on that spot, where natural sources for survival were lacking. He began his experimental research with 22 Mayan constellations and studied the connection among placement of Mayan cities in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

Mayans use astrological signs to determine farming sequence. This was enough reason to indicate that signs could influence where Mayans lived. Gadoury begun to map out the constellations and observed that they corresponded to 117 known Mayan cities. Then, he added another twenty-third constellation to the map. With the use of Google Maps and some old images provided by the Canadian Space Agency, the kid was able to resolved that a 118th city must match up to it, Gizmodo reported.

Dr. Armand LaRocque, a University of New Brunswick in Fredericton remote sensing specialist, believes it was a Mayan pyramid enclosed by thirty smaller compositions. The square or rectangle shapes which appeared in the images are forms that barely be credited to natural phenomenon, the report added.

Meanwhile, the young discoverer chose the name Fire Mouth for his breakout find. However, all the proof laying with satellite imagery has not actually been explored - the location spotted on Google Maps. To mention the reason, money to fund the exploration is scarce, Dr. LaRocque added. Currently, funds are being raised to send Gadoury to Brazil's Expo-Sciences International, where he hopes to direct his knowledge and abilities to study networks and to find volunteers to explore the Fire Mount, the report quipped.
